'Peaches' The Album

“Peaches” is the nickname given to me by my beloved Uncle Harry (my Mum’s brother). Uncle Harry and I were very close. I did ask him once why he called me “Peaches”. He lifted me up and said “because you are as lovely as peaches and cream!” Nobody else ever called me “Peaches”; it was special to just us two.

Uncle Harry died very suddenly at the age of 40. It was such a shock to our family. I still miss him and I still think of him. I think and hope that he would be proud of me.

Once “Christmas is in the Heart” was completed, I was still putting together music. The album contains 12 songs that I have written and recorded with my music producer. It has been a wonderful experience to see my heartfelt melodies being crafted into a fully produced record that I am so proud of!

All the songs are personal reflections and observations about life and my own experiences. It isn’t always easy to open yourself up to music and let it flood you. I used to listen to songwriters in the press, talking about how they struggled with this. Now that I have put myself on the line, in writing and singing these songs that are so personal to me, I can appreciate their feelings. I do still find this hard, but I’ve come to accept that it’s what has to happen, if your music is going to be truthful and comes from your soul.
