Peaches: Moving On

Peaches: Moving On continues the story that began with my debut album, Peaches. While Peaches looked back to childhood, family and the experiences that shaped me, this second album moves the story forward, with songs inspired by later life, love, relationships and the moments that stay with us.

The album brings together my love of storytelling with warm melodies and an easy-listening sound. Musical influences range from the beautiful harmonies and melodies of The Carpenters, Joni Mitchell and James Taylor to the Latin energy of Gloria Estefan.

The result is a wonderful, varied collection of 12 original songs, each one telling its own story, and like the song, “An Unplanned Journey”, the scenes change and move between acoustic ballads, upbeat guitar-led melodies and more mellow, folky sounds. There’s even a song in Spanish, “When You Loved Me (Cuando Me Amabas)”, with a distinctive Latin rhythm.

At its heart, though, Peaches: Moving On is an autobiographical album. Songs such as “I Give You My Song,” “Fragile,” “Love Him For Who He Is,” and “The Buzzard And The Field Mouse” tell their own stories, capturing different emotions, memories and experiences from my life.

I hope you’ll find this album personal, melodic and full of warmth. Peaches: Moving On is music to settle into and listen to. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed bringing these songs to life.
